BENITA WASHINGTON
In 2003, Benita Washington captured the hearts of millions as she won the first Gospel Dream Talent Search. In 2004 she released her debut album Hold On, which sold over 70,000 units… and in 2007 she releases her greatly anticipated sophomore release Renaissance.
Ren-ais-sance: Noun 1. Rebirth or rising again or becoming stronger.
This new release once again captures the unbelievable voice and God-given talent that is Benita Washington and takes the listener on a journey through her rebirth.
Standing on the promise of Proverbs 18:16, “A gift opens the way for the giver and ushers him into the presence of the great,” Benita has been favored to hold the position of Praise and Worship Leader at Cornerstone Full Gospel Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, under the pastorate of State Bishop Earnest L. Palmer. It was there at Cornerstone that God began to prepare Benita for destiny. During her tenure as praise leader, the team ministered at the 2000 Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship Conference in New Orleans, LA during Friday morning worship service. She has also appeared as a musical guest in concert with Dottie Peoples, Kim Burrell, William Murphy, III, and Greg Crowe. July 21, 2002, Benita released her independent debut album My Story, celebrating the beginning of the manifestations of the promises of God in her life.
Benita is supported by her devoted husband Delvin Washington.
