In 2004, Brian Bates got off the corporate fast track and got serious about his calling.  From his powerful, relevant testimony of leaving behind a gay lifestyle, to his passion about identity and freedom in Christ, there is a new voice emerging in music.  “I was the prodigal, God was the waiting Father, and always will be.  He is entirely good and accessible.  I hope my songs and story reflect that and make this narrow path more compelling.”

Worlds Collide includes ten new songs written from lessons learned on Brian’s counter-cultural path.  “Music is simply a vehicle,” Brian says.  “T think what I have to offer most in my songs is my relationship with God and my experiences in life, with all the heartache and joy and hope.”  Another influence in the writing was Brian’s work in Africa, as he helped develop “Mission Bo,” a partnership with World Vision to heal and empower communities in Sierra Leone, Africa.
