JAMI SMITH
"Jami Smith is one of those rare people,
creations, or gifts from God, if you will, who explodes on the
stage with ultimate musicianship, singing, ministry and blessing...
yet at once remains quietly profound, and naturally lovely."
Jon Rivers, KLOVE Radio.
Bravo God is a work of worship to the God that
Jami Smith calls "The Beautiful". Her hope is that through
this new CD we will "see The Beautiful". Produced by
Will Hunt (Shane & Shane, Aptcore), the record reflects Smith's
journey and like most is full of highs and lows, but evident throughout
her life as well as this album is an unswerving trust in God and
His Word.
Smith and two of her band members co-wrote several
of the songs on the album. Together they stumbled across "Bravo
God" in the Message. Smith says "We sat in my basement
one afternoon and opened the Message (Eugene Peterson's contemporary
version of the Bible.) Immediately, Psalm 29:1 popped out at me:
'Bravo God, Bravo.' I was overwhelmed at the thought of shouting
'Bravo' to and for God because this epitomizes worship. I longed
to write an album full of songs for God where we sing of his forgiuveness,
mercy and greatness, and then together, shout, 'Bravo, Bravo God,
to your name we give you praise, Bravo God."
Sounds like : worshipful roots pop/rock in the same style of Melissa Etheridge,
Jennifer Knapp, Rita Springer, Margaret Becker.
