RYNN It's a name you'll likely never forget and a breakthrough CD that Contemporary Christian Music lovers will likely remember for years to come. Say hello to Rynn and her MCG Records debut CD. This Houstonian has spent the better part of her life sharing hope with all those fortunate enough to attend one of her inspirational performances. With an ear for great songs, and a voice as big and beautiful as her heart, Rynn puts an unmistakably soulful vocal signature on ten of 2008's more memorable songs from some of CCMs most celebrated songwriters like Reggie Hamm, Jason Ingram and Sam Mizell - including a breathtaking reprise of U2's musical prayer for a broken world, Yahweh.
The beginning of Rynn's pursuit of a career in Christian music was equally unforgettable. As a 4 year-old pastor's daughter in pigtails, she captivated the hearts of her Dad's entire congregation with a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday Jesus - complete with chocolate cupcake and candle. "It probably wasn't my all-time best performance," reminisces Rynn, "but my Mom tells me a face-without-a-smile was nowhere to be found." From this memorable debut, Rynn went on to become a featured soloist in not only her church choir, but also the traveling Louisiana All-State Choir - which also fueled a burning love for adventures to new places. In her college years, Rynn also traveled extensively as a member of a praise and worship band performing in churches all across the country. "I think Jesus' followers were all adventuresome spirits," explains Rynn, "who loved to share the Gospel wherever they were. My choir trips along with my father's evangelistic travels," she added, "instilled in me a lifelong love for exploring God's precious gifts of people, places and purpose."
MCG Records President and Executive Producer James Bullard - whose credits include the launching of countless successful Gospel music careers over the past 30 years - recognized Rynn's passion for singing and sharing after being introduced to her by a songwriter. "From our very first meeting, Rynn impressed me with the fact that she has an indescribable ability to connect with people on-stage and off," Bullard stated. "Her love for Christ shines through in her heart, her eyes, her personality and most assuredly," he added, "her voice."
With a June 17 street date for the debut of Rynn, Bullard and staff are busy developing national radio and retail marketing plans. While some artists find themselves dreading the requisite packing and preparation for a tour, Rynn anticipates it with the excitement of a child at Christmas, reminding herself that, "God has already prepared me for the journey…it's my job to show-up, sing and serve!"
